The Heartbreak of Doodling (the doodle)

I was so bored in the editing room since I had to recapture my footage. I adapted Ivan’s style for this doodle.
Prop of the Week: Barbells
This is for the main stage production of He Who Gets Slapped at Columbia College.
The Barbells are made of basketballs and a PVC pipe. I paper mached the basketballs. When the glue and paper mache have dried over night, I cut crosses in the side of them, big enough for the PVC pipe to fit. I plugged in the PVC after that epoxied it to the balls. Once the epoxy dried, I painted them with a mixture of black paint, sand, and water.

My cool boss, Anastasia is posing.
Documentary on Ivan Brunetti
After two declines from refugees that I was going to do my documentary on, I got very discouraged. I decided that I would do it on something of my own interest- comics. (Ivan thinks it’s cause I’m going from one troubled person to another.)
I am doing a documentary on Cartoonist Ivan Brunetti. The first time I saw Ivan was when he spoke that The Show ‘n Tell Show at Schubas in September. There, he spoke of his works and his creative process. He had such an outgoing personality. I found out that he’s a full time faculty at Columbia College.
Knowing that he teaches at my school, it was very easy to contact him. I was quite surprised when I first met him to find out how truly shy he is. When we were scheduling dates to shoot, I discovered he is a busy guy and that I will be a busy gal following him around at his events.
Ivan had a book signing at Third Coast Comics (my new regular comic book store) on Saturday, where my cameraman and I recorded the event. I got my book signed while we were there:
